Our passion is to suit your needs. If you need a complete tournament ready single or multi boat trailer for you and your homies to slay bass in tournaments every weekend, we got you. If you are a lone wolf weekend warrior just trying to spend less time loading, and more time floating, we got you. If you have 7 kids, a dog, and a grandma all needing to haul your yaks to the local lake a few times a year, we got you.
But here is the real kicker that will separate us from every other kayak trailer maker. If you are a DIY enthusiast just like me, and you want to build your own rig, maybe up-fit/repurpose an old boat trailer for yourself, but maybe just need a little help designing, or just doing the welding, replacing the bearings, etc, so you can have the rig of your dreams…… we got your back there too!

General repair, welding & Service
This is of a course a welding and fabrication shop, so don’t hesitate to ask if we can simply weld some parts on to what you’ve got. We would be happy to.
Maybe you need some parts designed in CAD and laser cut, we can do that too.
“But Kyle, my crusty old boat trailer works just fine, it just needs some new wheel bearings”…….. Happy to help with that too!

The “Bunk Daddy”
Or very own patented product. These handy little guys allow you to attach PVC pipe bunks to generic Unistrut, while maintaining the integrity of the PVC. No welding. easy to install. Designed with the DIYer in mind. Use with 3” Sch 40 PVC.

5” Tie down gusset.
Made from 1/4 steel plate, these are a great way to add rigidity to your build, and gain anchor points at the same time. Laser cut and ready to weld on.

Fishing Rod Tubes
These can be made to fit just about any trailer, truck bed topper, roof rack, etc. made from 6” or 8” Sch 40 PVC. 8ft long, they are lockable, and I coat them black with Herculiner for UV protection and durability. (stock image is uncoated. I will get some better images soon though, I promise)

More about us
It started back in 2018 when I got a couple of Jackson kayaks. I wanted to spend every minute I could fishing and exploring the waters of Iowa. But all the loading and unloading, and trying to get everything ready to go all the time quickly became a pain. I built my first trailer from an old half V boat trailer. It was a stacker that could hold 5 yaks and had a large storage box (I believe it was and old veterinarians mobile box) mounted below for paddles, and life jackets and stuff. It has simply grown from there. Having upgraded kayaks and trailers several times now to where I now run wet launch trailers so I don’t even have to lift the yak anymore.
We have tried all kinds of designs and features to make the process easy and hassle free. I simply back up to my Floater Toter, hook it on, and hit the road! No loading yaks, or gear, or prepping, or hoping I didnt forget anything. And the minimal rigging is done at the boat ramp to launch the yaks. Everything is in the toter and ready to go.
As a welding and fab shop (K.E.G. Enterprises - welding and repair) It seemed like a natural fit to want to build things I am passionate about. So I launched Floater Toter Industries in 2024 as my brand of custom kayak trailers.
I want to cater not only to the customers wanting a complete custom rig, but to the average Joe, and DIYer. I’m happy to make custom additions to your trailer, or help you with modifications you may not have the ability or equipment to do on your own.
